Thesis Preliminary Results

This storymap reports my progress about halfway through my thesis project for review by my cohort and professors. 

Group Project for City of San Jose

This project features dashboards and apps in ArcGIS Pro that I created to report conversion of land from commercial and industrial to residential in San Jose, California.

High house values cluster in areas with high tree cover calculated in R. 

Antarctic researchers want wifi.  These current undersea cables are projected with the Spilhaus Projection, which put Antarctica at the center of the map and conserves ocean surface areas, instead of land surface areas. 

Survey points for a habitat suitability scorecard field research work. 

I created buffered sampling maps for permit applications and laid them out as a series.

Final Thesis Data poster for the SRF 2026 conference in Redding, CA. 

I used spatial analysis in R to determine whether neighborhoods are more or less vulnerable to 3.5 ft. sea level rise based on income and poverty factors. 

This poster won a People's Choice Award at the San José  State University GIS Day event!

This poster shows the middle stages of work on my thesis question for presentation at a conference.
